The Mid-Autumn Festival is on the 15th of the eighth lunar month. Among the Chinese, eating delicious moon cakes and to give them as gifts, carrying beautiful lanterns and full moon viewing are the traditional celebrations. This festival symbolizes family reunion and good harvests.

The most popular myth is the Goddess of Moon, Chang-E whose sacrifice of pounding the elixir of life and ascended to the moon, to prevent it from falling into the hands of her husband Hou Yi, a villain.
